In the Wake of "Stupor Tuesday"

Nobody really wins, and the parade of crazy marches on.  Ugh.  You notice, of course, that I didn't even mention Super Tuesday until now because the whole thing was such a huge cesspool.  You'll excuse me if, in lieu of ranting, I vanish to drown my rage/sorrow/disgust in coffee, research, and a million John Hughes and Ryan Gosling movies.  I find Santorum so repulsive and Newt so ... Newt-y that I might have to end up giving this blog's oh-so-coveted endorsement to Romney by sheer default.

Yes. Come, join the dark side, Minerva ...

(Of course, my first thought for a comment was, "Why not? That's what the rest of us have done.")

Yeah, though this year's slate of candidates is just awful. Picking one is like picking the least rotten apple out of a barrel of reeking specimens. I'm even more annoyed because Ron Paul makes all libertarians look like wackos.

Well, I've felt that way about the slate of candidates since 1992. It thoroughly ticked me off until after the 2000 election, when I just decided it wasn't worth getting upset about anymore. I still have quadrennial flare ups of "ZOMG one of these idiots is going to be president! FLEE! Run for your lives!!!!" but I seem to get over it a little more quickly each election cycle.

Ron Paul is disappointing. Maybe he'll bring enough attention to the philosophy that it'll attract some more serious folk.
