China Tells Obama to Oppose Taiwanese Independence

Well, that didn't take long! Blurb:

China has urged the US president-elect Barack Obama to oppose independence for Taiwan, saying the issue is essential to good relations between Beijing and Washington.

China's foreign ministry spokesman has also called on the US to stop selling arms to Taiwan and to honour the one-China policy, which sees Taiwan as part of mainland China.

While not surprising in the slightest, this still chaps my hide!
