Well, they do get paid, but in benefits not money.
Does it say something that a college education at a top end school isn't considered a good trade off for playing sports? Then there are the tutors, special treatment, meal plans, housing, and other perks.
I wonder how much better my grades would have been, or everyone elses for that matter, if we had access to the same resources that athletes had.
Benefits, yes, but if we look at the sheer vast amount of money associated with the system, I can hardly blame players for wanting a piece of that action since they're the ones actually playing. I kind of think the whole NCAA money monster is ridiculous, even though I do love me some football and basketball.
