Let it be known with great fanfare that I just saw the first green daffodil sprouts!
No flowers, just a few green shoots popping out of the cold muddy ground, but I'm ecstatic anyway! I still haven't seen any snowdrops or crocuses anywhere, though, and usually they're the first flowers to appear.
Can spring be far away? I hope not (even though it's still absolutely freezing here in Nerdworld).
So now, to celebrate with me, read William Wordsworth's "Daffodils"! Or, perhaps, Robert Herrick's "To Daffodils."
