Well, given China's gender imbalance, this was inevitable. As for sheng nu, the term is being translated as "leftover ladies." Hey girls, we can all be childless unmarried monsters together!

Before this falls off the front page, I am curious if you have any theories about this.
Higher education in women seems to correlate with higher odds of not marrying. What would cause that? Is it the men? Or, is it that women insist on men who are at least as well educated, reducing their pool of eligible candidates? Or is something in the education itself changing women's attitudes? Or what?
It's an interesting question, and I'm curious what you think about it.
