Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes!
Here's your 1980s nostalgia in glorious fashion as Kevin Bacon proves that he's still got it at 55 as he outdances people half his age. (Footloose is 30 years old this year?!)

March Madness: Duke's Out In the First Round
I didn't even have time to blink, much less get my Duke hate on, before the Blue Devils got eliminated from the Big Dance this afternoon. And just who beat the #3 seed and basketball powerhouse? Mercer. WHO? Yeah. Mercer, the 14th-seeded school that I had never even heard of.
You know, gigantic upsets like this are what make March Madness so great!
By the way, that howling you hear is the sound of millions of college hoops fans lamenting their now-ruined brackets.
As for Duke ... BYE BYE BYE!
UPDATE: Need a tutorial in dancing the Nae Nae on the grave of Duke's tournament dreams? We aim to please here at MM Blog!

Nerd Journal: Exams Are Done!
Or, I should say, the grading is done. Students panic and procrastinate before exams, instructors after. Grading is, bar none, the worst part of this whole evaluative process. Still, it's all over for this semester. Time to celebrate! I'm too darn tired to hit the dance floor, so I'll let someone else do it instead.
Bust a move.

But not all of our little routines will set the Internet on fire like this Aussie athlete's has apparently done. Oh, and Cine-Sib? YOU'RE WELCOME.

Ryan Gosling Blows Up the Internet. Again.
Maybe he really does have the best guerrilla PR team in history. This video from 1991 is currently setting the Internet on fire, and a gajillion people have emailed it to me, so I have no choice but to post it. Yes, that's 11-year-old Ryan Gosling with his sister Mandi at a talent show. I suppose this is what the "Disgustingly Cute" tag has been waiting for all this time. UPDATE: Here's the tale of that recording. I guess you never know what kind of dirt your childhood friends and neighbors might have on you! (What a terrifying thought.)

UN Gives Cultural Approval to Argentina's Tango
The UN can't do much about ... well, almost anything that really matters, but by golly it can declare that the tango is culturally significant. Didn't everybody already know that?
Next on the agenda: assessing the value of the Macarena. Or not.
(end of snarky comment)
