Don't Be a Crazy Moon Landing Conspiracy Theorist, Or Buzz Aldrin Will Feed You a Knuckle Sandwich
You know, I really wish I didn't have to post things like this, but in the wake of Neil Armstrong's passing, a bunch of idiots are rehashing the moon landing conspiracy theory. This is a huge collection of debunking, including the guys from Mythbusters and Buzz Aldrin himself, who proves himself an even bigger glorious badass than I had previously thought - a feat I had not thought was possible. Note also: that conspiracy nut absolutely got what he deserved. What, you go up to an American hero who trained like mad and put his life in jeopardy on Apollo 11 and proceed to accuse him of being a liar and a coward? Idjit. We love you, Buzz!

Nerd Fun: Shakespeare Haiku Contest
Let's have some fun with the horrible new Roland Emmerich film "Anonymous" and its championing of an execrable conspiracy theory. A pox on it! Take a look at this contest on a Shakespeare professor's blog! The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM on November 3. My entry is:
Want real fantasy
Told with skill? Screw Emmerich.
Go read "The Tempest."

Life Imitates Satire: Al Qaeda Slams Iran for "Ridiculous" 9/11 Conspiracy Theories
This isn't completely a new idea, but the latest iteration has hit the news here:
9/11 Conspiracy Theories 'Ridiculous,' Al Qaeda Says
In the latest issue of the al Qaeda English-language magazine "Inspire", an author appears to take offense to the "ridiculous" theory repeatedly spread by Ahmadinejad that the 9/11 terror attacks were actually carried out by the U.S. government in order to provide a pretext to invade the Middle East.
"The Iranian government has professed on the tongue of its president Ahmadinejad that it does not believe that al Qaeda was behind 9/11 but rather, the U.S. government," an article reads. "So we may ask the question: why would Iran ascribe to such a ridiculous belief that stands in the face of all logic and evidence?"
Though Iran was the first of the two to use the "Great Satan" as a synonym for the U.S., the author claims that Iran sees itself as a rival for al Qaeda when it comes to anti-Americanism and was jealous of the 9/11 attacks. It's gotten to the point that the line between life and satire has more or less evaporated. Need I remind you of this Onion video from 2008?

Attack of the Zionist Sharks!
How did I miss this crazy Egyptian accusation that the Israelis are sending sharks to attack the Red Sea? How do I even begin to make fun of this? Oh, wait! I don't have to! Comedian Stephen Colbert will do it for me:
