Hello Kitty Monstrosity of the Day: the Hello Kitty Bento Box
Horrifying. (For more bloodcurdling bento horror, click here.) BUT, I have to admit that this related video (a how-to video for making a bento box lunch) is just as horrifying in another way! What's worse, really, the octopus-shaped sausage or the total misuse of Chopin?
Those octopi are totally flavorless, but look cute. In a frightening sort of way, of course. I found it excessively hard to find any good sausage in Japan.
I was bothered more by the excessive use of a poodle than Chopin, really, but I'm a redneck, so what do you expect?
There is really no good sausage in Japan? There is some pretty good sausage in Taiwan -- a little salty, a little fatty, a little flat-out awesome all sliced up on rice porridge for breakfast...
Nope. I could only find decent sausage in little specialty import shops in metropolitan areas. I don't remember once having really good sausage at a restaurant, even the pseudo-German places. And they don't believe in pepperoni at all. The equivalent when you have pizza there is salami. Hmm, I won't go there -- pizza in Japan is it's own culinary category that, other than being round, bears little resemblance to pizza here.

The poodle is just odd, isn't it?

Hm, I'm starting to get hungry.
