Fugly or Fabulous? A Geisha Print Skirt

I admit to being absolutely fascinated!  Wearable art!  If it were up to me, I wouldn't wear opaque black tights with it, but I would wear a simple black, crimson, or white top and some awesome black shoes, elegant and understated, not the clunky weird things in the photo.

This is beautiful -- and you are absolutely right about the extremely unfortunate hose and shoes. The model seems to be going for rather heavy-handed whimsey, but I think the artistry of the skirt warrants more sophisticated treatment. A framed piece of art, not part of a collage.

I'd like one of the darker options for the top, and I love your idea of a simple, elegant, black shoe. Perhaps with sheerest black stockings?

But there is a sense of fun in the proportions of the skirt -- maybe just soft pewter ballet flats?

So here's what's really funny about me talking Fashion: I didn't realize pantyhose had gone so thoroughly "out."

Yes, whisper-sheer black stockings that look as though they're scarcely there! It also depends on the wearer's skin tone too.

i have absolutely fallen in love with this skirt. It is such a different look to what we are used to. I agree, it would be styled with a better pair of shoes and stockings but the skirt its self is very beautiful.

The detail on it is so interedting i can't take my eyes off it. I hardly even noticed the shoes and stockings until the were mentioned because the skirt is like a separate piece of art.

I think it would be best worn with simple black heels, a dark top and possibly a solid coloured necklace like crimson or aqua or one of the other colours in the design of the skirt depending on how it looks with the rest of the outfit.
