Dirty Harry has the news: "Iron Man" will be out on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 30. And you can pre-order your copy now on Amazon.
I am so *THERE.* September 30: it's a date, Tony Stark!
And I will be watching endless iterations of that glorious, geek-tastic scene when Stark learns to fly in his garage. Endless iterations.
(Goodness knows I need something to look forward to, since September is that dreaded time of year for students and teachers alike: the start of another semester!)

I always like the beginning of the school year. I can make taking roll and signing in new students last as long as Homer singing either The Illiad or The Odyssey. Or both. And the rest of the time I can answer questions on why I am the coolest teacher in school because I have a bright red Porsche Carrera and a pony tail. Books take up much time and suggesting that some of the students might be better off in another class can add up to a whole day. Before you know it a whole week and a half are gone and I got paid for it. Public service is wonderful! Plus I always volunteer early for Extra Duty(chaperone, debate club, etc.) so I get girl's volleyball, boy's baseball, moot court and debate. I volunteered for golf once and get caught by a principal that actually knew something about the game. he just didn't believe me when I claimed that all these Chinese and Japanese-American kids unless chaperoned would become dissolute vandals on the golf course. Also I have offered, every year for ten years, to sponsor a surf club which was also turned down. Rats! But I did avoid football, the Prom, graduation and the worst of all, the annual school musical.
Back on topic, I just pre-ordered the two-disc DVD of Iron Man from Amazon for $22.99. Which, considering the shipping is free, seems the lowest price I found.
Pat, thank you for providing such a good role model. That is exactly the life I aspire to with my graduate studies!
Thank you, but it also took 15 years to figure out everything and where the bodies are buried.
Plus I did forget to mention that my three Honors Class English classes had a paper on Faulkner and his contemporary non-Lost Cause poets of the South. As well as a group project of creating a dialog using only Faulkner lines. This year they had to create a dialog about building a house and beginning with the quote, "The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past." Maybe I exaggerated about how cool the students think I am when all this is due the second day of class.
Hmmm, but surely you could share your hard-earned experience for a fellow Minerva-ite, yes?
Second day of class, eh? Well, what was the St. Crispin's Day line about the fewer that survive the greater the share of Honor?
