Movie News: Don Cheadle Replaces Terrence Howard for "Iron Man 2"
Howard was very good as Rhodey, but Cheadle might be even better. This is one re-casting that I don't mind! (As long as Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark, all's well with the sequel.) Anyway, I can't wait for "Iron Man 2." Hellooooooooo, War Machine!

One would think Cheadle would cost more than Howard, but what do I know. Guess Crash > Hotel Rwanda. Whatever. What irks me is re-casting in general, messes up the whole thing. Remember the two Darrens?! Smart Americans were probably confused. Or Saavik. Cmon. If you can't get the original actor, save the character until you can get them back. Maybe it's just me. If I were the director, continuity would be formost on my mind.
Cine-Sib, you do have a point. Continuity is always good. BTW, love your phonetic name for this comment. Still, as long as RDJ is Stark, I will be happy.
George Burns and Gracie Allen had a tv show on during the 50's while I was growing up. They had always wanted the comedian and announcer Harry Von Zell to play the next door neighbor but he was unavailable until midway through the 2nd season.
Burns solved the recasting problem by freezing the action, though you could see the other actors tryng not to move, and simply shook hands with the first actor, said hello to Mr. Von Zell and asked him if he knew his lines and then told the cameraman to resume filming. Classy and extremely funny.
