Kitchen Notes: Chinese Food Versus Japanese Food

What's the difference between Chinese food and Japanese food? It's based on both taste and appearance. I've said a certain humorous observation on this for a long time, so I'm delighted to see someone else say it too:

"Japanese food looks fantastic but tastes so-so. Chinese food tastes great but looks horrendous."

Ha! Taiwanese food too: ugly but yummy! In fact, I make a dish that Alessandra has nicknamed "Ugly Eggs." (Soooooo delicious, though!)

I dont really agree with that. There is also alot of Japanese food that looks horrendous that tastes great. Furthermore, I have seen plenty of Chinese food that is very well presented and looked fantastic(often more so than Japanese food)
