Years ago I went into a Welsh pub for lunch and to watch a reply of the Celtics vs. the Rangers. Before the game started someone asked the barman to turn to the Welsh language channel for, honest to god, the daily grammar and Welsh word program.
Those Welsh may indeed have beautiful singing voices, according to Hollywood, but the rising tide of clearly spoken Anglo-Saxon profanity made the barman turn back to the rugby talking heads and the guy asking for the program back to his table.
It appears that except for the S4C public tv types the rest of the Welsh consider the language necessary only for the tourists to muddle over. BTW, if you ever go there do not by any t-shirts that you think has a slogan about Wales on it. It isn't.
