Business Week has a new piece about endowments.
Remember, though, how many schools' endowments have been hit hard by the economic crunch. Big-name schools like Princeton, Yale, and Harvard have seen their endowments' value drop precipitously.
Note too that on and off campus, there's plenty of self-righteous speechifying for and against endowments. Still, there's room for debate about whether endowment-addiction is such a great idea.
