Now if they had cast Billie Piper in drag then that would have been impressive. Also, I guess these good reviews make up for David Tennant being the only Scottish actor in the world never cast for the longest running police drama in the world, Taggart. Tennant even mentioned in an interview that the original titular detective was occassionaly brought back in flashbacks. So Tennant couldn't supplant a dead guy for a guest role.
