Which actor might be a good film version of Green Lantern? The Movie Blog has the link to some of the fans' speculation. One name getting some buzz? David Boreanaz of "Angel" and "Bones" fame. Interesting pick! Other names being bantered about: Josh Duhamel, Nathan Fillion, Ben Browder . . Wow, not one but two of La Parisienne's favorite bits of sci-fi eye-candy!
As for the entire casting question . . . Now for the amusing spectator sport of watching rabid, partisan fanboys tear each other to shreds in comments-sections all over the blogosphere. My favorite stupid meme in the arguments about casting: "ONLY So-and-So can play (Whatever Character Here)!! NOBODY ELSE can possibly do it EVAH!!!" This is silly, and it places unnecessary limitations on a project. Besides, actors you never thought could pull off a role can sometimes surprise you in delightful ways.

I could give a hoot about Green Lantern, but Nathan Fillion is a seriously unsung actor.

Slither
good stuff! Kid's got range ...
"Seriously unsung" is right! First saw him in "Firefly" and loved it; he was even better in "Serenity."
But then again Toby MacGuire was eminently forgettable, it might have well be Charlie McCarthy, as Spiderman. And even on her best day Kirsten Dunst could only be described as interesting and hardly the beauty Mary Jane should have been in the films.
