Beijing Olympic Watch: Another Bronze Medal for Taiwan

Congratulations to Lu Ying-chi, who won the bronze in women's weightlifting in the 63 kg category.

This is the second medal for Taiwan at the Beijing Games; both medals have been bronzes in women's weightlifting. The first was won by Chen Wei-ling.

Well done, ladies!

Yay for Chinese Taipei! Excuse me, Taiwan!

Ugh the politicization of that is horrible. I had a conversation last night with a girl who is originally from Taiwan and she told me that the Taiwanese national anthem doesn't even get played when their athletes medal. Instead the 'flag song' gets played. That's gotta hurt them some in their moment of glory. It's disgusting.

I know. It's pretty bad. No song, no flag, no name.
