Nerd Journal: Movie Therapy

Your humble blog hostess is completely exhausted.

Surrounded by books, papers, articles, and journals that she can't read because her eyes don't function for reading any longer, she is collapsed on the couch and watching "Captain Blood" on DVD.  That Errol Flynn was certainly a handsome devil, wasn't he?

Gentle reader, please suggest more films and/or possible cures for school exhaustion.

*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.*

I would be happy to post my cures for school exhaustion, except I'm just too dang exhausted. Two more papers and a final! Whoopee!!! *thunk* (imagine head hitting desk)

I don't know why, but whenever I read your study posts, I always feel like I don't have enough journal articles around me. I've got a whole stack of 'em . . . Wait, do you think I should be READING them? Could that be it!?

I'm currently on a film noir kick so you might have to search for some of these. Night and the City by Jules Dassin, Le Samourai and Army of Shadows by Jean-Pierre Melville, The Third Man by Carol Reed and Bob le Flambeur again one of my favorite French directors, Jean-Pierre Melville. Also The Great Race by Blake Edwards, The Horse's Mouth by Ronald Neame and Gregory's Girl by Bill Forsyth. One of the stars of the last was Claire Grogan of "Happy birfday, happy birday..." fame from the Scottish band Altered Images.

I actually met her in a book store in Glasgow but I think that my wife at the time didn't appreciate my stammering and turning beet red. Grogan was kind enough to ask if I needed an EMT. Ah, well, still like those lasses with accents.
