Top 100 Films, Ranked by the London Times

Don't panic! This isn't another of those stodgy, pretentious lists! The Times of London has a fresh list of its 100 top films, and it's an unusual, eclectic, at times delightfully demented collection.

Take a look and be entertained by the list itself. When was the last time you saw "Jurassic Park," "Blazing Saddles," and "This Is Spinal Tap" in a "top films" list?

Oh, sure, some of the usual suspects are on there (no movie list is complete with Bogart's finest, after all), but most of the entries aren't the predictable honorees of other lists.

I remain the lonliest person in the universe who has remained faithful to the idea that Casablanca is one of the Bogart's weaker films. Not a bad as The Return of Doctor X and definitely not as good as The Petrified Forest. Though I can't tell you how pleased I was to see The Searchers on the list.
